Monday, 13 June 2022, 19:47 – Eastern prairies are under threat of storms during the hours before dawn on Tuesday morning, with the possibility of some night storms becoming severe. Be alert!
While western prairies are seeing heavy rainfall to start the week, the eastern section faces the threat of storms, potentially severe in southern Manitoba, until Tuesday morning. Torrential rains and strong winds would be the main threats to these storms in reinforcement. Finally, they could be classified as a mesoscale convective system (MCS), a cluster of strong storms. MONDAY NIGHT / TUESDAY EARLY MORNING: THREAT OF A STRONG STORM THROUGH EASTERN PREY
While parts of southern Alberta and Saskatchewan are experiencing heavy rainfall through Wednesday, with a maximum of 150 mm possible in the hardest hit areas, the east side of the region faces a strong risk of a storm Monday night.
Towards the eastern prairies, a large cluster of storms has the potential to reach severe criteria by Tuesday before dawn in southeastern Saskatchewan and southern Manitoba. Localized floods and harmful winds are the main threats.
