Nintendo announces Kirby’s Dream Buffet, released this summer

Surprise! Nintendo has just announced Kirby’s Dream Buffet, a new downloadable Kirby game that will hit the Switch eShop this summer.

The tasty-looking title sees up to four players roll through the levels as Kirby characters of different colors, devouring types of food and sweets.

Copy skills allow you to pick up food from further away or flatten rivals. At the end of each dish, the Kirby who has eaten the most will win.

A debut trailer for Kirby’s Dream Buffet.

Today’s trailer is clear in detail, aside from the fact that Kirby’s Dream Buffet will be an exclusive Nintendo Switch eShop and online gaming will be supported.

It’s not a Nintendo Direct, but it’s something, and it all sounds pretty fun.

Kirby is having a good year. In March, Kirby and the Forgotten Land took the series’ 3D platform to a new level, impressing Eurogamer’s chief editor Martin.

“This is an absolute hug from a game, and most likely Kirby’s best outing so far,” he wrote in Eurogamer’s Kirby and the Forgotten Land review.
