It’s no secret that the Switch, or more specifically the Joy-Con controllers of the Switch, have been subject to a number of failures over the years. Perhaps best known for the dreaded drift, Joy-Con drivers have been a source of pain for gamers around the world, and many have opted for the much more reliable Pro driver for their daily needs.

It appears that Nintendo is finally looking to offer a meaningful service to address these issues and has launched a subscription service in Japan to help customers who need Switch repairs. As reported by VGC, the service is known as “Comprehensive Service” and will cost consumers 200 yen per month (approximately $ 1.50 / £ 1.20) or 2000 yen per year ($ 15 / £ 12).

The service covers virtually everything including Switch hardware, including the consoles themselves, Joy-Con controllers, the base, and the AC adapter. Customers can claim up to six repairs a year, with the service even covering accidental damage and water damage.

There is currently no word on whether the service will be offered outside of Japan, but we have to say the prices are incredibly attractive!

What do you think of this new subscription service for repairs? Do you think the price is competitive? Let us know!
