It has been revealed that Apple’s upcoming iOS 16 update will support the use of Nintendo Switch drivers on iPhones.
Both the Joy-Cons and the Pro Controller work with the beta of iOS 16 according to a report by The Virgin today (June 7), which shows iOS developer Riley Testut using the Pro Controller while saying that it worked “perfectly” on the software.
“Apple seriously killed it with this deployment, that’s amazing,” Testut added, with screenshots showing how each left and right Joy-Con can also be individually linked to the phone.

Apple’s engineering manager Nat Brown also responded to a thread where someone suggested they could test the Joy-Cons on the operating system.
“Try it out. Let me know if you have any problems,” Brown said. “It simply came to our notice then [Joy-Cons] paired, hold down the buttons on the bottom side (left “capture”, right “home”) for a few seconds to join the Joy-Cons to a controller and redo it to split them.
The last half of Brown’s statement also reveals that the Joy-Cons, which can be used as a whole controller or individually on the Nintendo Switch, can also be exchanged dynamically.
As of release, iOS 16 is only available for developers, with a public beta next month before it is fully released later this year.
In other news, court documents related to prisoner Gary Bowser reveal that Nintendo wanted to use his case as a way to educate the public about game piracy.
