Noah Cyrus details Xanax addiction: he became a “dark and bottomless dark”

Noah Cyrus is recovering from an addiction to Xanax that made her feel like she was in a “dark, bottomless pit.”

Miley Cyrus ’22-year-old little sister revealed she was 18 when her boyfriend at the time gave her the drug, which is used to treat anxiety and panic disorders, for the first time.

“It became a way to bond with us,” the singer told Rolling Stone in a revealing profile posted Tuesday. “I think I wanted to fit in with him. I wanted to be what he wanted and what he thought was great and what I thought everyone was doing.”

Noah, who grew up with her pop star sister, said she was “surrounded by people who could easily get it” and preferred to take Xanax to party drugs.

“Once I felt it was possible to silence things for a second and numb your pain, it’s over. It becomes that dark, bottomless pit,” he said.

He recalled a promotional interview for his EP, “The End of Everything,” in which he physically struggled to stay awake.

She continued, “I wake up in the morning and I am able to look at myself in a mirror and continue my day without hating myself. I am able to comfort and nurture myself.”

Her upcoming debut album, “The Hardest Part,” which includes tracks like “I Burned LA Down,” will be released on September 16th.
