North Melbourne lose three recruiters days out of the mid-season draft

The outings also follow media criticism and scrutiny of North’s recruiting and list management calls, which have followed a massive overhaul of the young couple’s playlist and fall and key signings Jaidyn Stephenson and Callum Coleman-Jones last week. The club have also been ruled out of ignoring Logan McDonald, a key striker now in Sydney in the 2020 national draft.

Will Phillips, North’s top pick (No. 3) in this 2020 draft, has yet to play this season due to illness after managing 16 games last year.

“Mark and Glenn have been valued contributors to the North Melbourne Football Club, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors,” Rawlings said in a statement.

“Mark and Glenn have worked passionately and tirelessly for the club, and we thank them for their work.

“The planning and preparation of the team around the mid-season draft has been very thorough and will keep us in a good position as we look to next week.

“We will begin the process of replacing the now vacant roles in our selection and list management team over the next few months.”

According to the current positions of the scale, North has the selection two in the draft of half of season next week, although, with only a 2.1 percent that separates them and West Coast in the scale , could still secure the first selection.

North Melbourne, meanwhile, has denied a SEN report that had warned Jason Horne-Francis, the No. 1 pick in the draft and the boom recruit, for failing to report the club had flown home to Adelaide for World Day. Great.

Horne-Francis, who had missed the ninth round with a hamstring strain, reportedly had three flights in four days flying to Adelaide and then to Melbourne. “I have no idea this guy, I don’t know where you get him from,” Rawlings told 3AW.

But Rawlings added: “No doubt the game was lost with tension in the hamstrings, that’s for sure.” Horne-Francis has not signed a contract extension beyond 2023, but Rawlings said he was not worried as the No. 1 pick still had the entire next season before leaving the contract.

“Well, none of our players have signed this draft … I’ve seen many times from other clubs that are now in their second season, and everyone signs,” Rawlings said.
