The Platinum Jubilee weekend has begun with the traditional Trooping the Color parade.
The Queen also attended a lighthouse lighting ceremony, but the Palace has confirmed that the 96-year-old monarch will set aside Saturday’s events because she is experiencing “discomfort”.
A massive crowd poured into London to witness the first day of the platinum jubilee as the queen marks her 70th birthday with a four-day celebration.
On the balcony of Buckingham Palace, the Queen was seen with a staff as a support and joined her cousin, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent.
Prince Charles and Prince William led the parade alongside Princess Anna.
