NSW Attorney General asks DPP to review bailiff Neil Duncan’s bail after alleged offenses

A convicted Bega pedophile could find himself behind bars after being charged with breach of his bail conditions.

Key points:

  • The 67-year-old man has been convicted of eight counts of sexually assaulting girls under the age of 16 between 2018 and 2021.
  • Duncan is accused of breaching his bail conditions, which include not leaving his Timbumburi property until he is in the company of a family member.
  • Duncan was due to be convicted on August 5th

NSW Attorney General Mark Speakman has asked the NSW Attorney General to review his decision to continue with Neil Duncan’s bail.

Last week, Mr. Speakman said he would review the case of the 67-year-old man, who earlier this month was found guilty by a Queanbeyan district court of eight counts of sexually touching girls under the age of 16 between 2018 and last year.

Duncan had been rescued before his sentence in Sydney on 5 August.

“I have asked the NSW Attorney General’s Office to review the bail decision for this matter,” Mr. Speakman in a statement on Tuesday.

The move comes after Duncan faced local court in Tamworth on Monday on charges of breaching his bail conditions, which include not attending pony club events in two parts of the state and not abandoning his property. of Timbumburi while not in the company of a family member.

The court changed the terms of the bail, barring Duncan from attending any pony club events in NSW.
