NSW paramedics take five-day industrial action

NSW paramedics have launched an industrial action that will include not registering billing information and staying in the home station area during the five-day campaign.

People calling 000 will still have an ambulance responding, but will not be billed.

From Friday night until Wednesday, paramedics are taking action as they bid for 1,500 additional staff, the establishment of a specialized community care network and a pay rise.

The Australian Association of Paramedics is also calling on the state government to implement the recommendations of the Regional Health Consultation and a review of the patient triage system.
