Another potential upgrade of the Nvidia RTX 4000 specifications has arrived and supposedly the RTX 4090 is up to 60% faster than the RTX 3090 in terms of base clock speeds. The GPU’s next best graphics card also includes a 50% higher boost clock, while the RTX 4080 could still use GDDR6X memory after all.
In another tweet revealing potential RTX 4000 specifications, the Kopite7kimi hardware filter claims that the RTX 4090 could include a 2,235 MHz base clock, accompanied by a rising clock speed of 2,520 MHz. In addition, the user says that the “actual maximum” speed of the GPU is 2,750 MHz, which probably refers to the potential of the card in the game.
In comparison, the RTX 3090 includes base and incremental clock speed limits of 1,395 MHz and 1,695 MHz respectively. So it looks like the RTX 4090 will easily outperform Nvidia’s current-generation rival, with speeds that match an overclocked RTX 3090 Ti out of the box.
The latest Kopite7kimi update also retcons previous predictions of RTX 4080 memory, as GDDR6X is still on the cards for the GPU. As with all the rumors and speculation about RTX 4000, you should take this latest wave of information with a grain of salt, mostly because the narrative of the gaming computer performance of the line is constantly changing.

Sure, the green team has its gaze on the crown of the next-generation GPU, but its trip to the throne could include some logistical turmoil. Apparently, Nvidia wants to downgrade the RTX 4090 chips in response to a market crash, but a previous $ 10 billion deal with TSMC means the company could lose money anyway.
