Olympic gold medalist boxer Nicola Adams and his girlfriend Ella Baig have announced the birth of their first child, a boy.
The couple, who first announced they were expecting a baby in February, revealed she was born Saturday morning.
In a joint social media post with his partner, Adams said they felt “instant love” for their baby, who already has his own Instagram account.
His name has not yet been revealed.
The former Strictly Come Dancing star, 39, said: “We are very excited to announce to the world that baby Adams has arrived.
“The first moment we saw you we felt an instant love and the strongest bond.
“We went to the moon and looked for you again and we can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives watching you grow.”
The images accompanying the publication showed them smiling in the hospital and with their hands around their son’s small feet.
In a statement, Adams added: “We are very excited to have welcomed our son into the world on Saturday morning around 7am.
“Nothing prepares you for this moment in life, but I am so overwhelmed with love and proud of Her.”
The baby already has more than 1,800 followers on Instagram.
Famous friends congratulated them, such as BBC presenter Clara Amfo, singer Fleur East and Strictly Come Dancing professional Johannes Radebe.
East said, “Ahhhh congratulations !!! Welcome to the baby world!”
The couple, who have been together for four years, had shared an ultrasound when they first announced the pregnancy.
Adams previously said the couple had gone through two rounds of unsuccessful in vitro fertilization, with Baig, a model, who suffered a miscarriage.
They started trying to conceive in 2019.
Adams has said there is “stigma linked to the IVF process” and a lack of parenting books for same-sex families.
The former professional boxer made history in 2020 as part of Strictly Come Dancing’s first gay couple alongside Katya Jones.
They were forced to leave the series soon after Jones tested positive for COVID-19.
