A man has died as a result of a collision between several vehicles involving a truck, a bus and cars in Coimadai, north-west Melbourne, this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident on the Diggers Rest-Coimadai highway around 3:40 p.m.
The driver of a car that went off the road and crashed into a tree during the collision has died.
Police said the driver of the truck was trapped for a while before being assisted by emergency services, while the driver of the bus was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Paramedics confirmed that two people involved in the crash were taken to hospital with upper body injuries and both remain in stable condition.
Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit have been alerted as police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
