A man has died after an early morning crash in southwest Calgary, police say.
Police say they were called around 4:30 a.m. to a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of 17th Avenue and 85th Street SW, near the city’s west edge.
Officers arrived to find the car crashed into a pole and the sole occupant of the vehicle, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Firefighters and paramedics have also been dispatched to the scene.
It was not immediately known how the crash occurred as the Calgary Police Service’s traffic unit continued its investigation Saturday.
