The driver of a van has died and two passengers are in the hospital with indeterminate injuries after a collision with a transport on Friday morning.
THUNDER BAY – A man has died and two people are in hospital with undetermined injuries following a collision between a transport truck and a pickup truck on Highway 17 near Raith on Friday.
Emergency services were called to the collision, about 25 miles north of the 11/17 junction at Shabaqua Corners, around 9:20 a.m. Friday.
The crash left the driver of the truck dead while two passengers were in the hospital with undetermined injuries, according to Ontario provincial police.
The driver of the transport truck was not injured, police said.
The highway has reopened to alternate traffic, after the incident completely closed it between Shabaqua Corners and Uppsala for much of the day.
