One person has died and another is fighting for his life after two houses were destroyed by fire overnight.
A body has been found inside a house in Bankstown, south-west Sydney, after a fire ravaged the property.

Emergency services were called to the fire at the Ogmore circuit around 6:30 a.m. Saturday. Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire and found the body inside.
The person has not yet been formally identified.
Bankstown police have begun investigating the fire, with the cause yet to be determined.
Detectives will prepare a death report for the coroner.

In another incident, a man struggles for life after being pulled from a grandmother’s flat in the back of a house on Oxley Highway in Port Macquarie shortly after 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
NSW Fire and Rescue said in a statement that the 55-year-old man may have tried to re-enter his grandmother’s apartment when gas cylinders exploded and caused severe burns. The fire spread to the two-story apartment, with two people rescued by police.
