One Direction star Liam Payne: “My baby ruined my relationship for all the right reasons”

The 28-year-old pop star and 38-year-old former singer welcomed her son Bear in 2017, but separated a year later.

One Direction star Liam Payne has admitted that having a baby with his partner Cheryl “ruined their relationship, but for all the right reasons.”

The 28-year-old pop star and 38-year-old former singer welcomed her son Bear in 2017, but separated a year later.

Now Liam has admitted that he struggled to become a father at the age of 23 in a heartfelt talk on the Logan Paul podcast.

“I like talking to other new parents. You don’t know what’s coming and it’s different,” he said.

“And to be honest with you, it ruined my relationship at the time, but for all the right reasons. I was so excited because I was born that I really cared if I didn’t love her enough.”

Liam explained that Cheryl had a “pretty bad” hemorrhage during the birth, which meant she had to care for the bear alone for the first 24 hours.

“It was me and a baby in the room and I was 23 years old and I had to take care of them and I didn’t even have little sisters or anything. It was fun.

“The end of the night was me playing FIFA with my little boy in my arms like ‘this is the coolest thing ever.’

Liam and Cheryl separated four years ago, but the One Direction singer has only positive words for her.

“She’s the best mother in the world. I couldn’t ask for someone better,” she said.

“I can take my son to school once or twice a week and it’s best. The relationship we have now as friends has only grown more.

“We broke up for a reason and now he gives me full autonomy in my life and to do what I do and I know he is [Bear’s] To take care of. He’s all he cares about and I can’t ask for more. They live three minutes from my house.

“I always stick to where he is. My life is his now. My money is his. I have several companies he can run if one day he wants to or he can sell … but right now he’s only five years old, so we there is still a long way to go.

“He’s a lovely, lovely guy. We’ve been blessed.”
