There was a heavy police presence in Okanagan Falls Saturday night after shots rang out in the small community.
Several area residents say Castanet shot himself near the corner of Maple Street and 10 Ave around 10:00pm Saturday night.
It’s unclear if anyone was injured in the reported shooting, but police quickly swarmed the area. One resident says officers blocked off Eastside Road at one point Saturday night and would not allow vehicles to travel south to Okanagan Falls.
Castanet has contacted the RCMP for more information on the shooting, as it is not known at this time if the RCMP have made any arrests.
“Everybody’s wondering what’s going on, I don’t know if they caught a guy or what,” one neighbor told Castanet. “No one knows if we have a maniac running around.”
