Thor: Love and thunder. It’s all about everyone talking about pop culture this week. It was good, it was bad, you liked it, you hated it, how they treated Jane, she was gay enough, she set up Thor 5, yelling goat, the list of topics for discussion has been endless. Interestingly, however, in a few interviews, the person primarily responsible for the film, co-writer and director Taika Waititi, was completely in the dark about a key point of conversation.
Marvel Studios has conditioned its fans to stay until the end of the credits of its films with the promise of some funny surprise and / or revelation. This usually takes the form of a full scene, but sometimes there is also a statement that a character or team will “come back”. This happens in Thor: Love and Thunder, where the credits end with the promise that “Thor will return”, presumably in some kind of sequel. However, speaking to Insider, the person who would hypothetically be responsible for this sequel, Waititi, revealed that he did not know he was there.
“Well, guess what? It was also a surprise to me,” he said. “It’s not a joke. I saw it in the theater and I said, ‘Oh, shit. Really? Even Chris [Hemsworth] it was like, “What?” But, of course, he will return. He is the best character. I mean, maybe I’m a little biased, but it’s the most fun thing to see. “
Thor: Love and Thunder ends with some clues as to how Thor might return. On the one hand, she has an adopted daughter with superhero powers. Two, Hercules and Zeus are now chasing him. So it seems pretty obvious that Waititi himself wrote and filmed clues as to where another story might go, but it seems to be overlooked.
“Now, I don’t know what would be next,” Waititi said. “I would definitely do one, but only if Chris did. But it should be something surprising and unexpected for me to want to do it. For us, Thor having a daughter and fighting with her fellow gods is pretty “unexpected,” so we get the feeling that the Oscar winner is getting a little out there. But whatever the truth, Thor will be back. Although it probably wouldn’t happen until after Waititi directed a Star Wars movie.
