Ontario reports 3 new deaths from COVID-19; positivity at least 3 months

Ontario reported three new deaths from COVID-19 on Sunday, with the lowest positivity observed since February.

The Ministry of Health says all three deaths have occurred in the last 30 days.

There have been 65 deaths in the last seven days, 399 in the last 30 days and 13,288 since the pandemic began.

Provincial laboratories processed 6,998 test samples in the last 24 hours, generating a positivity rate of 7.1 percent.

It is the lowest positivity rate recorded since February 22nd.

The average positivity over the past week was 7.8%, down from 8.9% the previous week.

Ontario COVID-19 Scientific Advisory Board says viral prevalence in wastewater continues to decline in all regions of the province.

Full hospital occupancy was not available on Sunday, but there were 111 patients who tested positive for COVID-19 in hospital ICUs across the province, four more than on Saturday.

Of the 710 cases of COVID-19 confirmed by access to PCR tests on Sunday, 60 were unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, 127 had two doses of vaccine, 443 had three or more doses of vaccine and the vaccination status was unknown. ’80 others.
