However, there will be no school transportation and OC Transpo’s service is also limited. The board says that if your child goes to school, make sure you have arrangements for safe collection and collection.
The board also warns that some class cancellations may occur due to staff shortages. Schools will notify parents directly.

Closed school students who have electricity at home can consult the Google Classroom and the virtual learning environment for asynchronous learning opportunities. Please note that it may not be available in all cases, as there are many workers without electricity.
Castor Valley Elementary School, which was damaged by the storm, will move to asynchronous remote learning on Wednesday, with the expectation of synchronous learning on Thursday. More detailed information will be shared by the school.
OTTAWA CATHOLIC SCHOOL BOARD
The Ottawa Catholic School Board says all schools with electricity will be open Wednesday.
The OCSB says that schools with power will try to offer a day of learning as normal as possible.
However, the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority canceled all bus service to all Ottawa schools on Wednesday, the board said.

“The two OCSB virtual schools will not be operational tomorrow. Because students come from all over the city to attend virtual schools, it would be problematic to offer classes when not all students can participate in learning. If the blackouts continue, we will develop a plan to ensure continuity of learning, “Education Director Tom D’Amico said in a letter to families.
St. Monica, who was severely injured, is locked up for face-to-face learning for at least the rest of the week, according to the board.
“Although there was significant damage to the building, it was mostly isolated in the gym area,” D’Amico said. “A restoration company is on site and has sealed the building to mitigate any additional damage. We will keep parents informed of our progress.”

The school board says, however, that while most schools will be able to reopen, the Ottawa School Transportation Consortium (CTSO) has informed the school board that transportation could still be affected by the closure of certain roads. The CTSO will have updates on its website.
