Overwatch 2 beta reveals new generation features and nerves of the characters

With the second beta of Overwatch 2 in full development, lucky players have shared new features and changes they have found.

The original Overwatch was not updated to natively support PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S, so there is great expectation that the sequel will bring the latest and greatest technological features.

Beta players have reported that the game will be able to run at 120 FPS with variable refresh rate (VRR) support. This is a great update for console gamers that have been locked to 60 FPS on state-of-the-art consoles.

Overwatch is an intrinsically competitive game, so an increase in frame rate is ideal for die-hard gamers with the right screen.

In addition to the “Framerate” mode, players will also be able to choose between the “Balanced” and “Resolution” modes, although it’s currently unclear what the different commitments are (I’ll let Digital Foundry analyze it).

As for the goal of the game, fans are torn by the changes to two of the heroes of Overwatch: Mercy and Symmetra.

Healer Mercy has received some minor nerves, such as her character automatically launching herself into the air when she reaches an ally.

The DPS Symmetra has had a more significant nerve, with its weapon now with 70 bullets instead of 100 and no longer regenerating to hit barriers. His secondary fire is now twice as fast, but does less damage.

Teleporters now only last 10 seconds, have lower health and longer reuse time, making it substantially less effective.

We should probably expect more changes as we approach the release of Overwatch 2 in October.
