Blizzard Entertainment has released many shorts over the years that are based on the tradition established in its games. Overwatch has done a good job of it, but it’s been almost four years since the last one was released, which focused on Cassidy and Ashe. Blizzard fixed it with the debut of a new animated short based on the upcoming hero, Junker Queen. This short was also accompanied by a series of updates to Overwatch 2 and a detailed roadmap of Blizzard’s plans for free play after the October 4 release.
Junker Queen and the next slate of heroes
The Wastelander shows Junker Queen, whose name is Odessa “Dez” Stone, on her journey to become the real Queen Junker in a gladiator camp (which also has short cameos from Junkrat and Roadhog). This extends its background story to the original story animation that was also released along with the Blizzard stream.

Some of these moves drain the enemy’s health and also increase their health, but Blizzard hasn’t explained everything yet.
The roadmap and beta
Junker Queen is part of the game’s roadmap that Blizzard also detailed. There will be new heroes every other season and maps between each hero, as well as a steady stream of new cosmetics. This will include the current line of cosmetics such as skins and voice lines, but there will also be new ones, such as thumb up and down emotes, first-person weapon inspection emotes, banners and weapon charms, at more than a new level. of skins.
This mythical level will be the highest level and the flow showed one for Genji. These skins can be further customized through different pieces. For example, Genji may have one of the few different tattoo patterns. All cosmetics will travel through the systems as they have a cross-platform progression and will all be in the game store, battle pass or will be given as a reward for completing weekly challenges.
Each season will run for nine weeks and will begin on October 4, bringing three new heroes, six new maps, over 30 new aspects, a battle pass, the first mythical aspect, and another game mode. Season 2 will begin on December 6 and will feature a new tank hero, a map, over 30 facets, another battle pass, and one more mythical aspect. It looks like getting a hero every two seasons and a map between these drops will start after the release, given how the first two seasons have a new hero.

There will be two new supports and a deposit in the first seasons. The new support was hinted at in the release date trailer and looks set to involve some sort of animal spirit. The heroes beyond will be a mix of characters that players have seen before in history and others who have not yet appeared in history.
The new beta will be part of that when it opens on June 28th. And unlike the latest beta, it will also be on consoles. He will have the map of Rio de Janeiro and Junker Queen as a playable hero. Beta registrations are now live on the game’s website.
The expected PVE
And while PVP has been the focus, Overwatch 2 also has PVE, which is well below the roadmap in 2023. Blizzard’s comments during the stream were not as detailed, but there will be drops of PVE maps in PVP seasons. It will expand the story and show how Overwatch reunites.
