Paris and Prince Jackson, the sons of the late Michael Jackson, paid tribute to their father on Sunday during the Tony 2022 Awards.
The couple took to the stage at Radio City Music Hall to present a performance of the cast of “MJ: The Musical,” which plays an important part in their father’s life and was nominated for the top prize.
Prince, 25, and Paris, 24, reaffirmed the late pop king’s love for musicals in a rare appearance celebrating his father.
“A lot of people seem to think that our father Michael Jackson changed popular music forever,” Prince Jackson said. “And who are we to disagree?”
“But what people may not know is that he loved musicals, on film and on stage. That’s why we’re so incredibly honored to present the first nominee of the night for Best Musical, ‘MJ,’ which, using many of his iconic achievements, he analyzes the complexities and brilliance of our father’s process. “

“MJ: The Musical” shows Jackson’s life during his “Dangerous” tour has been nominated for 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Actor.
Paris Jackson recently revealed that King of Pop instilled a strong work ethic and eclectic musical taste in his children.
“My dad was very good at making sure we were educated, making sure we were polite and not just showing off like splendor and glamor, like going to a hotel, five-star places,” Jackson said. in an interview.

“Growing up was about earning things. If we wanted five FAO Schwarz or Toys R Us toys, we had to read five books, ”he said.
