U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband has been arrested for driving under the influence, according to the Napa County Criminal Justice Network’s public reservation report.
Paul Pelosi, 82, was arrested Saturday at 11:44 p.m. PT and charged with driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more, according to the public reservation report . Both charges are misdemeanors.
TMZ was the first to report the arrest.
According to the booking report, the bail was set at $ 5,000 and records indicate that he was released on Sunday morning.
CNN has contacted the Napa County Sheriff’s Office for more details.
“The spokeswoman will not comment on this private matter that happened while on the east coast,” Pelosi’s spokesman Drew Hammill said in a statement.
The speaker was in Rhode Island on Sunday to speak at the Brown University graduation ceremony.
Paul Pelosi, a native of San Francisco, has been married to Nancy Pelosi since 1963. The two have five children together.
