Perth’s glorious winter weather is about to come to an end, giving way to a strong cold front.
Showers are expected to taper off Monday afternoon, with a heavy downpour overnight and into Tuesday morning.
“It’s a lovely warm day at the moment thanks to the warm northerly winds, we’ve hit 22.3C just after midday,” said Met Office meteorologist Jessica Lingard.

“But we have a cold front coming in later… what’s unique about this is that it’s connected to a cloud band to the north fed by tropical moisture, which means it’s going to bring more rain than a cold front normal”.
5-1mm of rain is expected on Monday, but Perth is bracing for 30-40mm on Tuesday.
Ms Lingard said the rain was expected to taper off on Wednesday afternoon, with no cold fronts on the horizon.
“Looks like the last rain for a while…no cold fronts for next week at least after Wednesday.
“We expect temperatures to warm up, with hints of spring at the weekend.”
