Plibersek apologizes for Voldemort’s comment
Albanese confirmed that Labor MP Tanya Plibersek had apologized for comparing Dutton to Voldemort, the villain in the Harry Potter series.
Mrs Plibersek made comments to Nine Radio when asked about Dutton as the leader of the opposition.
“I think there will be a lot of kids who have seen a lot of Harry Potter movies who will be very scared of what they’re watching on TV at night, that’s for sure,” he had said.
“I’m saying he looks a bit like Voldemort and we’ll see if he can do what he promised he would do the last time he introduced himself to the leader, which is to smile more.”
Albanese said the remarks were not acceptable and Ms Plibersek did the right thing by apologizing.
“I want to change the way politics works in this country,” he said.
“People are tired of conflict.”
