Police in search of the missing Queensland man, Nate Preston, have located what is believed to be the 20-year-old’s bag and phone on a Sunshine Coast canal.
Preston, who is from the Sunshine Coast suburb of Nambour, was last seen in Mooloolaba around midnight on Sunday 22 May.
He was reported missing on May 24 after his friends and family had not heard from him.

“Investigations led diving squad officers to conduct a thorough search of the Mooloolaba Canals near Brisbane Road and River Esplanade Mooloolaba, where a telephone and a bag believed to be Nate’s were found.” , said police.
No other items of interest were found.

“Police and friends are concerned about his well-being as his disappearance is out of character,” a police statement said.
Preston is described as indigenous in appearance and thin with a height of 186 cm, with long brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a black and white striped long-sleeved shirt, black sweatpants and a backpack.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about Preston’s disappearance to come forward.

Those who were near Brisbane Road and River Esplanade, Mooloolaba on Saturday, May 21 or the next morning, or who have relevant CCTV or dashboard footage, are also asked to contact police.
