The Queen made her second appearance of the day when she activated the lighting of the Jubilee’s main lighthouse outside Buckingham Palace.
At the same time, thousands of beacons were lit in towns, villages and cities in the United Kingdom to honor the 70th anniversary of the Queen’s reign.
Her Majesty began the ceremony from the quadrangle of Windsor Castle, with the Duke of Cambridge representing her grandmother, along with other members of the royal family, at Buckingham Palace, the site of the main lighthouse. ‘”Tree of Trees”.

Prince William was present to see how the Tree of Trees was lit, while people from all over the country lit their lighthouses, including archers lighting fires at the lighthouses on Hadrian’s Wall in Scotland. .
More than 3,500 beacons were lit simultaneously, creating a network of tributes across the UK, including historic sites such as the Tower of London, Windsor Great Park, Hillsborough Castle, and the Palace of Lambeth and the Queen’s estates at Sandringham and Balmoral.
For the first time, beacons will be lit throughout the day in each of the 54 capitals of the Commonwealth.

Grammy winner Gregory Porter and the London Community Gospel Choir conducted a new Commonwealth song – A Life Lived with Grace – after the Buckingham Palace lighthouse was lit.
The song will also be performed by choirs from all Commonwealth countries.
Prior to the ceremony, William described the first day of the jubilee celebrations as a “big day” and “quite impressive.”
Speaking to Mike Bloomberg, sponsor of the Tree of Trees, he said, “Today was a great day, it was pretty awesome. Did you see the step flying?”

Earlier today, the Queen appeared at Buckingham Palace for the Trooping the Color parade and a walk.
Buckingham Place, however, later announced that the monarch would not attend Friday’s Thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral after experiencing “some discomfort” during the event.
