The Poco family is growing today with two new members. One has a passion for gaming and brings the first 144 Hz screen to the series, the other tries to be a whole with its own “first”: the first OIS camera of a Poco phone.
Little X4 GT
The F-Series is usually the pride and joy of the Poco line. However, the Poco X4 GT comes with the exciting Dimensity 8100: a mid-range chipset born in TSMC’s 5 nm factories with four Cortex-A78 cores and a new Mali-G610 MC6 GPU. This chip has released some impressive results and usually outperforms the Snapdragon 870 (and can withstand the 888 as well).

The GT has a passion for gaming, which is evident on the 144 Hz screen, the fastest refresh rate in the family. The touch sampling rate is 270 Hz. It is a 6.6-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,460 pixels (20.5: 9) and can represent 1 billion colors (also supports Dolby Vision). The maximum brightness is 650 nights (typical 500 nights) and the panel uses a DC regulation. In addition, it is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 (the X3 GT had Victus).

Going back to the chip set, it uses LiquidCool 2.0 technology for heat management with a steam chamber that is 32% larger than the X3 GT, plus there are now 7 layers of graphite.
The chipset is paired with 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Poco has listened to your demands and recovered the 3.5mm headphone jack. This means that there is no Bluetooth latency to worry about, and you can charge your phone while you play. Speaking of which, the phone has a 5,080 mAh battery that is charged at 67 W with the included power adapter. A full charge from 0 to 100% takes 46 minutes. This battery is large enough to fill videos for 22 hours straight. In addition to headphones, you can also use Dolby Atmos-certified dual speakers.

The screen is slightly higher than last year’s model, which has allowed Poco to be more than a millimeter wide, making the phone more comfortable in the hand. The weight increased slightly to 200 g (from 193 g). The X4 GT is available in black, blue and silver.
Little X4 GT
The GT model is equipped with a 64 MP camera with a larger sensor than last year (1 / 1.72 ”, 0.8 µm native pixels, 1.6 µm with binning). It is joined by an ultra-wide angle camera of 8 MP of 120 ° (1.12 µm), plus a macro camera of 2 MP. On the front is a 20 MP (1 / 3.06 “, 1.0 µm) selfie camera.
A few more things to keep in mind. The first is the side-mounted fingerprint reader. The second is the X-axis linear motor. Wireless connectivity includes 5G, of course, Wi-Fi 6 (ax), Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and there is even an IR blaster.

Small F4
The Snapdragon 870 was good enough for last year’s F3, is it good enough for the new Poco F4? It remains to be seen: the focus with the F4 was to improve camera and battery technology. If you want advanced performance, the F4 GT has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

Return to Poco F4. It is the first in the family to include optical image stabilization (OIS). Other than that, the main camera has nothing to stand out with its 1/2 “sensor (0.7 µm pixels, 1.4 µm with binning) and f / 1.8 aperture. ‘X4 GT, joins an ultra-wide 8MP (119 °) and 2MP macro modules on the back and a 20MP selfie camera on the front.

In terms of charging, the battery has essentially the same capacity as the F3, 4,500 mAh. However, the charging rate has doubled to 67 W (adapter included) from 33 W. This has reduced the full charging time from 0 to 100% from 52 minutes to 38 minutes.

The screen is the same as last year: a 6.67-inch AMOLED (Samsung E4) with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 360 Hz. It has a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels (20: 9) and a maximum brightness of 1,300 nights (typical 900 nights). This is an HDR10 + display that now also supports Dolby Vision. Physical protection is handled by Gorilla Glass 5. Poco claims that the color tuning is quality with the TrueColor feature, but did not provide any deltaE numbers.
Like its sibling, the F4 has a side-mounted fingerprint reader and an X-axis linear motor. It also has two Dolby Atmos speakers, but no 3.5mm jack. However, it has an IR blaster.
