Like a poor suckling puppy being ripped from his mother, millions of Pokémon GO players can’t sign in or participate in their favorite mobile game. There are reports from around the world that the game has dropped. POGO is impossible.
This most devastating news first came out in my son’s room, where he regretted not being able to find a battle mate, when he was only six successful battles to complete the ridiculous battle challenge of 128. towards Down Detector, it was obvious he was not alone. And then on Twitter, it was reported from many countries.
From Australia to the Netherlands, through the UK to China, tweets are circulating about mourning the loss of the game, especially those who are supposed to be enjoying their raid hour on Wednesday. Others have found that they have just lost premium items, such as eggs and lucky incense, used just before the servers crashed.
As is often frustrating, the last people to notice publicly are Niantic. At the time of writing, both @ PokemonGoApp and @ NianticHelp accounts are still happily unaware of the issues, both promoting next weekend’s GO Fest, despite the bombardment of incoming tweets on both accounts. (Clearly it’s still time to go to bed in the United States, but imagine that these accounts, no doubt the latter, would have 24-hour staff).
Those who log in before things don’t work out still find some aspects that work, but many don’t. Those trying to sign in at the same point in the input bar on the (new) screen and then nothing.

The best answer I’ve seen so far is from ProfGenieHwang, who regrets that the Korean Raid Time has been impossible to reproduce, along with the perfect GIF.

So yes, it’s not just you. We’ll update this post as soon as things are back online, but I just wanted to make sure Niantic doesn’t take you personally. For God’s sake, don’t click “Sign out” or you’ll have to remember a password you didn’t enter for nine months.
We have contacted Niantic to ask what is going on and we will let you know as soon as we know.
