Police are looking for six men after a man was violently beaten in Sydney’s CBD

A 25-year-old man is in life support with severe brain injuries after being hit in Sydney’s CBD earlier this week.

A police search of six men linked to a violent coup at the Sydney CBD is underway earlier this week.

Officers were called at the corner of George and Liverpool Streets around 2.10am on Monday, following reports of a 25-year-old man being assaulted.

CCTV footage shows the group of men fleeing the scene in a blue Holden Commodore, heading north on Kent Street.

Police allege that the victim became involved in an argument with the group before being violently assaulted.

The 25-year-old was rushed to Sant Vicenç Hospital with a fractured skull and a bleeding brain.

It remains in critical condition.

Detectives have formed a Stockdale task force to help locate the group that left the man fighting for his life.

All men are described as Indian subcontinental in appearance and range from 170 to 185 cm in height.

Each man wore sportswear or a water jacket, with a man dressed in a pair of thongs.

Police have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
