Police are patrolling St. Helens Street while searching

A BIG police presence has descended on Boundary Road this evening.

A large number of officers are conducting thorough searches in the area, near the junction with Campbell Street.

Officers say his presence is related to reports of “a concern for the safety of a woman on a Boundary Road property” that have been made this afternoon.

A Merseyside police spokesman said: “There is no cause for concern for the public as we deal with this incident.”

Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck.

Sniffer dogs have also been seen on the road.

At least a dozen police vehicles have been parked on the road, with three Matrix vans on Campbell Street.

Police on Boundary Road

In the early hours of the evening, St Helens police said four men had been arrested on suspicion of fighting and possession of an offensive weapon following reports of riots near the Cambridge Road and Queens Park area.

However, this seems unrelated.

Neighbors told the Star they were surprised to see the large number of agents in the area.

One said, “If you think there’s a lot of police here now, you should have seen it before.

“They asked us if we had CCTV in the area.”
