Peel police have arrested a wanted man in connection with the murder of a woman found dead on Friday at a Brampton residence
Shortly before 6 a.m. Friday, officers were called to the address near Aloma Crescent and Avondale Boulevard, near Bramalea Road and Steeles Avenue.
The initial call was for a disturbance, but once at the scene, police located an adult woman who was suffering from obvious signs of trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Twenty-nine-year-old Alfonso Ritchie of Brampton was identified as a suspect. Police say she was the woman’s “intimate partner.”
On Sunday, Peel police posted a tweet saying Ritchie had been arrested and charged.
The force says more details will be provided in a press release to be released tomorrow.
