There is a large cordon near a crowded pub after it was reported that shots were fired.
Police were called around 6:45 p.m., June 8, to report that three men had run into the Arrowe Park pub on Arrowe Park Road shouting that they had been shot. A large cordon was laid on Church Lane and Commonfield Road, Woodchurch when an investigation began.
A separate cordon was also placed below Church Lane, just behind the shops. Customers leaving the pub around 9pm told ECHO people that “they ran inside and said they had been shot”.

They said the pub was closed at the time while officers were conducting their investigations. No injuries were reported. Officers remain in the area to conduct forensic investigations, CCTV and testimony, and to speak with the local community.
Consultations are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to submit. Detective Inspector Darren Hankin said: “We are in the early stages of an investigation and will remain in the area to reassure the community and gather information.
“At first it seemed like a targeted attack, but we keep an open mind about the circumstances. The use of weapons in our streets will not be tolerated and we know it will be an alarming incident for the neighbors. A extensive research.
“If you’ve seen or heard anything suspicious on or around Arrowe Park Road around 6:45 p.m., or you’ve captured CCTV footage or home dashboard information could be vital to research. “
