Hydro Ottawa reports a major power outage in Nepean. Hydro One also reports significant disruptions to the west and south of Hydro Ottawa territory.
The utility said shortly after 12:45 p.m. that 27,000 customers were without electricity in a limited area with 416 to the west, the Ottawa River to the north, West Hunt Club Road to the south and Merivale Road to the east. ‘west.

“We are working with Hydro One to ensure that energy is restored as quickly and safely as possible,” Hydro Ottawa said in a tweet.

Hydro One reported thousands of customers in the west and south of Hydro Ottawa territory without electricity. The cause of the interruptions is unknown.
More than 5,000 customers in rural western Ottawa had lost electricity, but most had quickly restored it. More than 6,600 people in Arnprior lost electricity, but the blackout ended at 1:45 p.m.
More than 2,300 Greely customers are also without electricity. Its estimated time of restoration is at 3 p.m.
