Four hours ago, Nintendo opened pre-orders for the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 special edition package. collector.
“We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience while trying to book the special edition Xenoblade Chronicles 3,” Nintendo’s official Twitter account said less than 30 minutes after orders opened this morning. “My Nintendo Store is experiencing a high volume of traffic and we appreciate your patience as we study the issue.”
The Nintendo Store link tab shows a similar message, warning customers that they have been queued and will be removed if they refresh or close the page. Some claim to have stayed on the page for more than an hour without any movement, while others mention that the animation loop freezes and leaves them confused about their status.
Also, those who make it to the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 special edition list often find the pre-order button in gray and it doesn’t work. Apparently, a few lucky fans were able to put the article on their carts from the start, but were unable to verify it. No matter the case, however, the outrage over Nintendo is palpable, as people just want to buy the game and move on with their day.
“It was easier for me to get a PS5,” a Twitter user said under a popular Wario64 tweet about how long these problems have lasted.

As for what’s in the package, it looks like the most important thing is the aforementioned “waifu art book,” a full-color hardcover volume with more than 250 pages of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 artwork. It also includes a steel case and a box with a special composition by Masatsugu Saito series character designer.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be released for Switch on July 29th. Hopefully Nintendo doesn’t make these rabid fans wait too long, or things could get ugly.
