Prevention of showers and storms in Toronto, special weather statement in force

Showers and some storms are forecast for Toronto and surrounding areas Monday night through Tuesday afternoon, Environment Canada says.

The federal weather agency has issued a special weather statement calling for the possibility of “significant rainfall.”

The city could see total rainfall of between 25 and 50 millimeters, although local areas could see more than that if there are storms.

Rain is expected to end on Tuesday afternoon as a cold front sets in.
