A controversial song that mocks Prince Andrew has uncomfortably reached the top 20 of the UK singles chart as the Queen celebrates her platinum jubilee.

Essex punk band The K ** ts released their version of the children’s rhyme The Grand Old Duke of York, in which they mock the prince’s financial deal with Virginia Giuffre, who presented a case of civil sexual assault against him in the United States.

The Duke of York has flatly denied all charges, but resigned from his royal duties when the case ended in March this year.

The song with a controversial title, ‘Prince Andrew Is A Sweaty N *** e’, was close to Lady Gaga’s ‘Hold My Hand’, which appeared on Top Gun: The Maverick earlier this week.

Speaking to NME, the leader said: “For me, after growing up with folklore around ‘God Save The Queen’ from The Sex Pistols they stole first place in ’77, a Jubilee celebration he has always felt that it could be a good opportunity to convey any complaints that may be made about our unelected head of state and his irresponsible descendants. ”

Meanwhile, Liam Gallagher has released his fourth number one solo album in the UK with his latest release C’Mon You Know.

Gallagher, 49, has already secured first place as a solo artist with As You Were in 2017, Why Me? Why Not in 2019 and MTV Unplugged in 2020.

The recent success of the former Oasis star on the Official Charts Company’s album charts aligns him with Brother Noel, as Oasis’ seven studio albums reached number one, while Noel has three more studio albums topped with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, as well as a number one blockbuster album.

The Gallagher brothers have been involved in a fight since the band broke up in 2009, sparked by a backstage fight at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.

Fans have long been waiting for a reunion, but in 2020 Liam said Noel had turned down £ 100 million to reform the band for a tour.

Liam plans to present two sold-out shows at Knebworth Park over the holiday weekend, almost 26 years after Oasis played at the venue.

The Manchester-born singer also has a second new simultaneous entry in the top 5 of the official album chart, with his live album Down By The River Thames at number four.

Speaking to OfficialCharts.com, Gallagher said, “What do we have here? Another number one record for brothers and sisters. Thanks to everyone who bought C’mon You Know and Down By The River.

“I’m tanned, you’re very kind. Thank you all and see you again.”
