Boris Johnson rekindled his dispute with the Prince of Wales over the government’s policy of sending migrants to Rwanda when he yesterday accused critics of having “obsolete” ideas about the country.
Royal aides are believed to be frustrated because the fury over the plan is overshadowing Charles’ first visit to Rwanda and the first meeting of Commonwealth leaders in four years, where he replaces the queen.
The Prime Minister and the Prince will meet this morning in Kigali on the sidelines of the summit. It will be his first meeting since The Times reported that Charles had privately described Johnson’s policy in Rwanda as “horrible”.

When asked yesterday what he would say to Charles if he raised the issue, Johnson said, “I think so
