Pubs have started charging £ 8 per pint for the first time in some parts of the UK.
Venturing into a London drink during the long Jubilee weekend could get bettors to reclaim the whopping £ 40 for a round of just five beers.
Some fear that pub attendees will start choosing to drink at home amid inflation and spiraling costs after Brexit.
So far this year, the average price of a pint has risen from £ 2.30 in 2008 to £ 3.95 according to new CGA figures.
The hospitality industry tracker keeps track of regularly checking over 5,500 random bars and pubs out of the UK’s 90,000.
The figures show a 70% increase since the financial crash of 2008, surpassing £ 8 for the first time in history.

The most expensive comb was found in London at a staggering price of £ 8.06, according to the Financial Times.
While the cheapest beer on average was brewed in a Lancashire pub for a £ 1.79 bargain by comparison.
Pub companies have expressed concern that prices could rise further due to supply problems related to the Ukrainian war.
The country is a global supplier of barley, a key ingredient in beer and wheat, which means the cost of grain has risen.

The combs would cost 60 pence less if the price had risen in line with average consumer prices from 2008 to 2022.
Brexit is another factor with trade barriers pushing up prices by six per cent in less than two years, according to UK think tank figures in a changing Europe.
This has had important consequences as most imports from the UK come from the European Union.
For now, the pints are expected to continue flowing over the Platinum Jubilee weekend (

Meanwhile, the pound has recently fallen to the lowest level against the US dollar since the start of the pandemic, raising inflation.
The nine per cent rise in inflation, the highest in decades, has also been driven by food and energy costs.
During the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend, the British Beer and Pub Association estimates that about 90 million pints will be sold.
But concern has been raised that sales will fall later.
