Anatoly Chubais, who left his post as the Kremlin’s special envoy because of the war in Ukraine, is in a “critical” condition in hospital.
Chubais, 67, is the highest-ranking Russian official to resign after President Putin ordered troops into Ukraine in February.
She has been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a disease caused by the immune system attacking the nervous system, Russian journalist and political activist Ksenia Sobchak told Telegram.
He described his condition as “moderately serious and stable” and is able to communicate, but unable to walk. His wife, Avdotya Smirnova, who is with him, told Sobchak that her husband suddenly fell ill and is experiencing numbness in his limbs.
