Kate Middleton smiles at the first of the queen’s platinum jubilee celebrations, the Trooping the Color, which shines with an all-white ensemble.
The Duchess of Cambridge arrived in a horse-drawn carriage next to Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, smiling and greeting the thousands in attendance at the parade as they walked the sides of the mall outside Buckingham Palace.
Middleton wore an Alexander McQueen coat dress she had worn before, which sold for around £ 3,000 or $ 5,230, but it was the duchess’s earrings that caught the attention of royal fans.

For today’s parade, Kate wore a memorable pair of sapphire and diamond double drop earrings, which had previously been worn by none other than Princess Diana.
The earrings come from the set of sapphire jewelry given to the princess in 1981, after her marriage to Prince Charles.
The earrings themselves feature a blue sapphire surrounded by a collection of diamonds on the earlobe, with a drop accessory of the same design.
The family then donated earrings and other jewelry with sapphire studs to match Diana’s famous sapphire engagement ring.
Not to mention, sapphires were one of Princess Diana’s favorite gems. Since then, the jewelry gift has been dubbed the “Saudi Sapphire Suite” by royal experts.

Another fun fact about earrings: Diana once wore them on a trip to Australia.
In 1987, Diana wore double earrings to dance with Prince Charles at the Hyatt in Melbourne.
Kate’s sweet glance at Princess Diana cannot be overlooked, as today’s celebrations mark the first time Diana’s children will be formally reunited, along with their families, in some time.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will arrive at the Trooping of Color, but will not be on the balcony to enjoy the parade show.
Instead, the Sussex will sit at a VIP stand and watch the other members of the royal family from a distance.
