The Queen will not be attending the Epsom Derby tomorrow after a “very tired” day of platinum jubilee celebrations, it has been revealed. Buckingham Palace have confirmed the 96-year-old will miss the event on Saturday.
It is the second consecutive platinum jubilee event that the Queen has had to cancel due to mobility issues. A Thanksgiving service was missed on Friday due to a very busy day of celebrations. These included a double balcony appearance and a flying step.
The Duchess of Cambridge told an attendee at a Guildhall reception that the Queen had been enjoying the festivities. However, apparently, she also found them tired, which led her to reduce her schedule.

The Queen had a “lovely” time at Thursday’s platinum jubilee celebrations, but found the day “very tiring,” the Duchess of Cambridge apparently said.
Gill Smallwood of Bolton spoke to Kate today after a Thanksgiving service at nearby St. Paul’s Cathedral. Mrs. Smallwood said she had asked Kate how the queen was.
She told the PA news agency, “She (Kate) said, ‘Yes, she was fine, she was very tired yesterday and she (the queen) had a great time.’
She said Kate told him that Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte also “had a great time” at Thursday’s celebrations, during which the three Cambridge children appeared on the balcony of the palace. from Buckingham to take a flight pass.
