The end of the special jubilee party may have ended with a rainy sky, but that didn’t dampen the mood when hundreds of street parties celebrated Her Majesty’s reign.
Despite the afternoon rain, residents of the aptly named Jubilee Road, Poole, gathered to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with food and even a version of the national anthem.
A tribute to His Majesty, Resident Jeff Williams said: “He is an exceptional human being who has done a great job for 70 years and fully respects him.”

Trudy Guy, who arranged for the road to be closed, said: “It’s been lovely, as it has brought the whole road together.”
Meanwhile, in Lilliput, residents of more than 160 homes attended a meeting, with plenty of prosecco and a delicious roast pork.
Peter Dobson, chair of the committee that organized the event, said: “It’s wonderful that we can celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a good community spirit.”

In Christchurch, Walcott Avenue residents gathered for a lively event with music, food and games, and even a birthday song for two-year-old Lottie Pamela.
Organizer Joyce McNicholl said all the neighbors met while applauding the NHS during the blockade.

Twynham Avenue residents braved the afternoon rain, with a blunt toast to Her Majesty, and sang the national anthem during their afternoon festivities.
Meg Brockway, who hosted the street party, said the event had solidified the relationships built during the blockade.

A ‘Big Jubilee Lunch’ was held at Wimborne Minster.
Organizer Tracy Williams said: “The idea was to bring some life to the city to celebrate the jubilee.
“We hope people get up and dance later and the mayor is here.”

Merley Community Party organizer Carly Carter, 17, said:
“I thought it would be nice to have a community event for the jubilee.
“I raised all the money through a GoFundMe page and we’ll do a raffle to make up for the rest.”
A ‘Park Party’ was held in Ringwood with bouncy castles, a circus and children’s competitions. Charmaine Bennett, organizer of the event, said: “Six months have passed in planning.
“Given the weather, it’s been a great day.”
