A 36-year-old woman was charged with murdering an eight-year-old boy in Rockhampton on Saturday afternoon.
Police carrying out a welfare check at 2.20am on Saturday found the boy’s body unresponsive at a house on Waterloo Street in the suburb of Berserker.

A crime scene was established and the Rockhampton Child Protection and Investigation Unit launched an investigation into the boy’s death.
Officers confirmed he and the woman knew each other, but declined to say the nature of their relationship.
