According to the Daily Mail, R. Kelly’s case stemmed from the allegations of nine women and during the trial at least 45 people were summoned to testify against the singer.
Prosecutors said he should be sentenced on June 29 to at least 25 years and a fine of between 5.8 million KSh and 29.2 million KSh.

Penalty from 14 to 17.5 years
Kelly’s attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, argued in her motion that the appropriate sentence range was 14 to 17.5 years.
However, prosecutors sought a harsher sentence, insisting he was cautious about the seriousness of the charges against his client.
“The government respectfully states that a sentence of more than 25 years is justified,” the prosecution said. “Today’s verdict puts an end to Robert Kelly’s reign of terror over a decade on many vulnerable girls, boys and women,” said Pete Fitzhugh. , Special agent in charge of national security, reports CBS News.
