Rapper Kodak Black was released on $ 75,000 bail after oxycodone arrest in Florida

Kodak Black was released from prison on Saturday on $ 75,000 bail after being arrested near Fort Lauderdale for allegedly possessing dozens of oxycodone pills.

The 25-year-old rapper was seen coming out of Broward County Jail in a video posted by an NBC 6 South Florida reporter.

His lawyer told Rolling Stone that the bond had been negotiated in a hearing Saturday morning for the rapper, whose legal name is Bill Kahan Kapri.

The Florida Highway Patrol stopped Black in Fort Lauderdale for window dyes that authorities said were darker than legal, Bloomberg reported.

Police reportedly smelled marijuana and searched the South Florida rapper’s vehicle, found 31 oxy pills and $ 74,960 in cash, the point of sale said.

Black’s license and vehicle label were also expired, according to the report.

The “Super Gremlin” rapper has been in and out of jail and prison all his life. In 2019 he was sentenced to four years in prison for possession of a weapon, but former President Donald Trump commuted his sentence in 2021.

Black’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, said his client would be sued in court.

“Never judge (sic) a case based on an arrest,” Cohen posted on Twitter Saturday morning.

“There are always additional facts and circumstances that give rise to a defense, especially in this case. We will bail him out today and move forward with resolving the issue quickly. “
