Prince George’s RCMP confiscated four vehicles Sunday night after finding that their drivers had drunk too much on a College Heights softball diamond.
Members of the municipal traffic services unit of the detachment were patrolling the area of Domano Boulevard and Avinguda de Sant Llorenç when they noticed that several vehicles were leaving a field in the area and made some pullovers between 21 and at 10 p.m.
Three of the drivers produced a “failed” reading on an approved detection device and were issued 90-day driving bans and their vehicles were confiscated for 30 days.
A fourth driver produced a “warning” reading, received a three-day driving ban, and his vehicle was confiscated for three days.
“If you are old enough to buy liquor, then you are old enough to understand the consequences of driving with disabilities. Make alternative arrangements to get home safely without endangering yourself and the drivers around you. “said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said.
“Police will continue to patrol disabled drivers in our community during the summer months. We encourage everyone to enjoy the summer responsibly.”
