“Really, Don’t You Play in the NRL?”: Experts Impressed by Panthers Gun’s Fiji Master Class

The performance of Fiji defender Sunia Turuva has made experts scratch their heads at how he has yet to play the young Panthers weapon in the NRL.

The 19-year-old starred in Fiji in his 24-14 defeat to Papua New Guinea with 229 meters of 24 runs, five wrecks, an assist at the line break and two tries in an attractive display.

Jake Duke believes that if it weren’t for Dylan Edwards, Turuva would have played a lot in NRL given his huge talent and form in the NSW Cup.

“Turuva has been a star in the NSW Cup this season,” Duke said.

“Eight tries in 14 games. 64 fouls and three rehearsal assists. A real star of the future this child.

“It won’t be long before we see him in the NRL.

“The only problem is that Dylan Edwards is playing the best football of his career and he’s as hard to usurp as the Panthers winger.”

Andrew Voss could not believe that Turuva was not a regular first-class match, as was his class and dominance against the Kumuls.

“They (Penrith) also had Daine Laurie and she had to go to the Tigers to start and she did really well,” Voss said.
