A “TECHNICAL problem” has caused non-essential flying of Typhoon and Red Arrows aircraft to be grounded.
The Royal Air Force said the move was made as a “temporary safety precaution”.
An issue has been reported that may affect the safe operation of the ejection seats on Typhoon and Red Arrows aircraft.
In a tweet issued at 4.30pm on Friday afternoon, the Royal Air Force said: “We have been notified of a technical issue which may affect the safe operation of our ejection seats on Typhoon and Red Arrows aircraft.

“We have stopped non-essential flights as a temporary safety precaution until the situation is better understood.”

Both the Red Arrows and the Typhoon will be flying at this year’s Bournemouth Air Festival, which returns between September 1-4.
